"We Are PyroKitty"
A Mother / Daughter Team
The business, PyroKitty, LLC was created for the purpose of marketing Becky's artwork and books.
This is a brief background of Becky's inspiration and how her talent evolved to what it is today.
Hello, I'm Becky. For as long as I can remember, I've loved art, have always had a very vivid imagination and have had a desire to create; ever since I was able to hold a crayon as a toddler. In grade school, I filled notebooks with my characters and made up stories about them as well. With High School came more precise Art Classes and I took advantage of the opportunity, enrolling in every one I could, searching out my strengths. From photography to clay sculpture and pottery, candle making to knitting, drawing and painting to carving, and wire sculpture to graphic design. I found that with my soaring imagination, fantasy art was my strongest venue; but I also do portraits and realism projets as well. Initially I used colored pencils completing my pictures within a sketchbook. Then I began sketching out an idea, scanning it into the computer and fine-tuning or colorizing it there. The first program I used was Open Canvas, but I've found that Adobe PhotoShop gives me a much wider range of tools to bring my creations to life. I also create artwork with the mouse and the Wacom Tablet that has proven to be a real asset.
When I was 16, I also began serious writing. The first, and largest project so far, is a three-part fantasy story about Werecats - a sister species to the well-known Werewolf. It's a story of good versus evil; Werecats battling numerous villains to save the human race. Book one in the series, "The Were - The Beginning", has been published and is available for purchase. The second, "The Were - The Betrayal", is in editing and awaiting the funds to be published. The third, "The Were - ....", is nearing completion and will be in editing soon. The title for the third in the series in in flux and will be set, as the other two were, after a read-through prior to editing. I also have another project going called "Winged" and hope one day to publish that as well.
I really enjoyed working with clay while I was in high school and have been working in that medium again. I've made small and large figurines that I began as giving for Christmas presents - but as people saw them, I've had orders and have made figurines for several people. I have been making masks - half masks, like those worn at masquerade balls. Some have feathers and some don't - I have several different kinds that I've made and people seem to really like them, so I'm putting them out there for your enjoyment as well. At the present time they're all the same size because I've only been able to find one basic face form to use, but I am searching for forms I can use to make masks of varying sizes. I've also have begun making what I call "Faerie Feet". They're small medalions with a tiny Faerie Footprint imbedded within. They come in a large variety of colors - no two are alike and they have a hole in the top so they can be worn as a necklace or you can just have it as a stone. These are very popular. Everyone should have a Faerie Foot. Check them out and I'm sure you'll agree.
Proceeds of the sales of my artwork and book are going toward the publishing expense of Book 2, "The Were - The Betrayal". I hope you like my artwork.
Sincerely,
Rebecca Paral
